Qargha Reservoir

In 1933, Qargha Reservoir and dam is built on the Paghman River. It is 1.68 kilometers in length and 30 meters in height. Qargha Reservoir is located approximately 9.3 miles (15 kilometers) to the west of Kabul.

Qargha Lake is a popular picnic spot and the only major reservoir in the country and is a key source of drinking water for Kabul and other cities.
