Mazar-e Sharif is the fourth-largest city of the country, located in the capital of Balkh province of Afghanistan. It is a historical town of the region. There is a tomb of the same name, which is more of a mosque, it is a tomb of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib. The yard of the mosque is full of different plants and trees, where visitors can relax and take a walk. There are a few more historic places, which are mostly related to the history of the region.
The city is considered the main destination for tourists and is the most important center for the carpet industry. The fourth-largest city of Afghanistan has 83 square kilometers of land area. The estimated population is 500,207.
